Mara-Nakuru-Samburu-Mt Kenya-Amboseli Budget Camping Safari
DAY 1 : Nairobi- Maasai Mara
This reserve is Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary, most
famous and visited game reserve in Kenya. The park adjoins
the Serengeti park of Tanzania. A land of undulating hills
and rolling grasslands supports a huge animal population.
During the months of July to September, millions of
wildebeests and zebras migration overflow into the Mara from
the Serengeti national park in Tanzania. The black manned
lion dominated the Mara, cheetahs, elephants, cape
buffaloes, giraffe, gazelle, antelope and many other plains
game are to be found here.
Leave Nairobi for a drive south to stop at the viewpoint of
the Great Rift Valley. After the breathtaking view, proceed
to Narok town for lunch then to Masaai Mara arriving for an
evening game drive. Dinner and night at the camp.
DAY 2 : Maasai Mara full day
After breakfast, spend a full day enjoying the best that
nature can provide in this game reserve taking your picnic
lunch at the hippo pools. This day you have the chance to
visit mara river where the migration of wildebeest takes
place. In the afternoon you have an option of visiting masai
village .Return to the campsite for dinner and night.
Day 3: Masai mara full day
After breakfast you spend another full day in masai mara
with an option visit to masai village in the afternoon.
Dinner and overnight at the camp.
DAY 4;Masai mara/ Nakuru
Lake Nakuru is famous for the flocks of flamingoes, which
frost it's blue shores sugar pink. It also plays host to
over 400 species of bird life, being second only to Lake
Baringo as the most prolific ornithological site in Kenya
Pre-morning game drive and after late breakfast depart from
masai mara with picnic lunch on the way arriving Nakuru in
the evening.Dinner and overnight at Budget hotel.
DAY 5 : Lake Nakuru / Samburu;
After early breakfast spend the morning in Nakuru park where
you see alot of millions of flamingoes among other birds
[about 350 species recorded]. This is also home to the black
and the white rhinoceros. The park has also been established
for the protection of endangered species such as the Rhino
and also home to Columbus monkeys. leopards, giraffes, and a
variety of plain antelope. Later with picnic lunch depart to
Samburu via Thomson's Falls where we make a brief stopover
at Nyahururu falls still known to many as Thomson's falls
arriving in the evening. Dinner and night at the campsite.
DAY 6 : Samburu Full day
Morning and Afternoon game-drive in Samburu with the chance
to see the rare species of animals and plants. Meals and
overnight at the campsite.
DAY 7 : Samburu- Mt.Kenya
These parks and game reserves are part of the most
fascinating sanctuaries in terms of scenic splendors and the
great variety of wildlife. Mount Kenya N. Park lies at an
altitude of approximately 3,400m – 5,200m. It offers
mountain attractions and flora & fauna found at different
altitudes. The wildlife includes colobus monkeys, bushbucks,
elephants, olive baboon, waterbucks, leopards, giant forest
hogs, genet cats, hyena and the elusive bongo.
Pre-morning game drive and after breakfast bid farewell to
Samburu as we drive south through Isiolo, crossing the
northernmost foothills of Mount Kenya, until we reach
Nanyuki town. Dinner and overnight in Budget hotel.
Day8: Mt Kenya / Amboseli
Amboseli provides the classic Hollywood image of Africa:
vast herds of buffaloes and elephants ranging across the
open plains and set against the glorious backdrop of a
snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro. At 5,896 metres, the 'Shining
Mountain' is the highest freestanding mountain in the world
and is topped by one fifth of all the ice in Africa.
After breakfast you proceed to excursions to Mau Mau Caves
where were used as hideout as well as shelter by the
pre-independent freedom fighters that fought the British
Colonial Government the vast thick forest of mt Kenya and
Aberdares Ranges. Later proceed to Nairobi for with picnic
lunch on the way and continue to Amboseli arriving in the
evening dinner and overnight at the campsite
DAY 9 : Amboseli full day
Pre-morning game drive will be the perfect time for
photographing the humbling and magnificent Mt.Kilimanjaro
the highest peak in Africa. You also guaranteed to see the
big elephants, giraffes, lions etc.Dinner and overnight in
the camp.
DAY 10 : Amboseli- Nairobi
Pre-morning game drive and after breakfast depart from
Amboseli with picnic lunch on the way arriving around 4/5pm.
Optional if you want to end up in Arusha no problem.
