Uganda Camping Safari

The Northern Tanzania Camping Safari Circuit is the better known and most-visited of the two, consisting of the area surrounding the town of Arusha. The Northern Circuit’s main draw is the massive Serengeti ecosystem, encompassing the Ngorongoro Crater Highlands, which is one of the biggest remaining animal migration routes in the world. Also on the northern safari circuit are the lesser-known Tarangire, Arusha and Lake Manyara National Parks.

3 days Ngorongoro Crater camping safari

The 3 days camping safari takes you to The Ngorongoro Crater rim which is over 2,200 metres high, and touched with swathes of clouds for most days of the year. By contrast the Ngorongoro Crater floor is a unique habitat where rich volcanic soil and year round water supply has resulted in a rich and healthy ecosystem supporting approximately 25,000 of Africa's big game. The Lerai forest and Lake Magadi filled by the Munge river, along with the famous hippo pool, are surrounded by vast plains that cover a crater floor which is up to 20km's wide (260 sqkm). Even though some of the animals do leave the confines of the Crater, Ngorongoro is the perfect habitat for many species, inclining both grazers and predators to remain throughout the year.
Day 1: NgorongoroOvernight at campsite on the crater rim. Lunchbox and dinner included.
Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater
Breakfast and depart with picnic lunch for a full day crater tour. Explore the crater which harbours great concentration of wild game.
Overnight at campsite on the crater rim. All meals included.

Day 1: Ngorongoro
Leave Arusha in the morning and proceed to Ngorongoro arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive in the crater.
Overnight at campsite on the crater rim. Lunchbox and dinner included.

The Ngorongoro Crater and surrounding highlands are one of Africa's most beautiful regions. Volcanic craters form stunning backdrops to some of the richest grazing grounds in Africa. The most famous is without question the Ngorongoro Crater, the worlds largest intact volcanic caldera; home to the highest density of big game in Africa. With 600 metre high walls and a rich volcanic floor that plays host to the big five, Ngorongoro is one of the continent's most famous safari destinations. A trip to Northern Tanzania has to include Ngorongoro, it is an exceptional place to interact with the Maasai and is one of the most beautiful natural wildlife sites in the world.
Day 2: Lake Manyara
After breakfast leave with picnic lunch for Lake Manyara. Afternoon game drive in the park.
Overnight at campsite at Lake Manyara. All meals included.

Lake Manyara is a lovely scenic park on the road from Arusha to the Ngorongoro Crater. The lake itself takes up much of the park leaving a strip of land running down its shores where game concentrates. Famous for its tree climbing lions, good elephants and baboons, Manyara is often visited for an afternoon's game drive on the way to Ngorongoro. The only negative of safari here is how busy it can be, but spend longer, move deeper into the park, and you can avoid the crowds. Overall a great introduction to safari, but a park that is not a patch on its neighbours !
Day 3: Arusha
After an early morning game drive, breakfast and return to Arusha arriving for lunch. Breakfast and lunchbox included.

Day 1: Arusha – Ngorongoro
In the morning drive to Ngorongoro Crater. After arrival you will descend into the crater for a wonderful game drive (with a picnic lunch) inside the Ngorongoro Crater often described as one of the wonders of the world. It is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a a natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s densest animal populations.
It is one of the few places where the rare black rhino can be observed in their natural setting. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds and other species. With a bit of luck the ‘Big Five’ can be spotted during one game drive only.
