10 DAYS KENYA WILDLIFE BUDGET CAMPING SAFARI, 10 DAYS MASAI MARA, LAKE NAKURU, SAMBURU, MT.KENYA, AMBOSELI, TSAVO WEST, MOMBASA BUDGET CAMPING SAFARI

A fantastic 10 day Camping Safari which starts with Kenya's Masai Mara or maasai mara Reserve, one of Africa's best game viewing destinations! This Safari will start off with a journey to the beautiful Masai Mara via the Great Rift Valley wich offers spectacular views. On arrival at the Masai Mara Park we will spend our time in search of the wildlife that makes this one of Africa's premier National Parks. The Masai Mara is especially famous for its Large Cat population and also the fact that it plays an integral role in the Wildebeest Migration, wildlife spectacular like none other on earth and ends in Tsavo West Tsavo West National Park which has a variety of wildlife, such as black rhino, Cape buffalo, elephant, leopard and Masai lion. The scenic and wildlife adventure of this short Masai Mara Camping Safari ends back in Nairobi on the last day.

Day 1: Nairobi - Masai Mara or Maasai mara

Depart from Nairobi hotel; we drive down the escarpment via the floor of the scenic Great Rift Valley. We arrive at mara camp in time for lunch. Located near the Masai Mara Game Park, our camp is tucked away in the cool shade of indigenous trees, offering an escape from the African heat. We stay in a self-contained and fitted with feature beds and en suite bathroom areas. We have afternoon first thrilling game drive in the Masai Mara game reserve, one of East Africa's top safari destinations. Meals and overnight at a camp.

Day 2: Masai Mara Game Reserve.

Full day game drive in search of Africa's Big Five and the look for other wildlife inhabiting this vast Kenyan game reserve. On clear days, the Mara offers fantastic orange tinged sunset’s well-worth capturing on camera. The Mara reserve is 1510 km˛ of incredible wide-open landscapes and fertile riverine woodland following the looping meanders of the Mara and Talek rivers in Kenya. One glimpse is enough to explain its appeal; it is typical open savannah, with a mass of amazing wildlife. Wherever you go in the vast Masai Mara you will see a frequent amount of wildlife such as Masai giraffe, baboons, warthogs, bat eared foxes, grey jackals, spotted hyena, topis, impala, hartebeests, wildebeest. Elephants, buffaloes, zebras and hippos are also found in great numbers. It is also common to see lions either basking after a heavy meal, or surveying the plains for their next meal. Cheetahs and leopards are harder to spot, but reasonably common. The ultimate action here is without doubt the annual wildebeest exodus, the Great Migration, in July and August when millions of these grass eaters move north from the Serengeti in search of lusher grass before turning south again in October. Balloon trips are an entirely outstanding way of seeing the savannah plains teeming with wildlife. These Masai Mara balloon trips can be arranged at extra cost. Meals and overnight at a camp.

DAY 4: Masai mara or Maasai mara - Lake Nakuru

Breakfast game drive: Depart Masai Mara for Lake Nakuru. Dinner / overnight at a hotel in Nakuru.

Lake Nakuru is a shallow alkaline lake-nakuru-attractions-rhinoslake on the edges of Nakuru town and lies a distance of 160 kilometers from Nairobi. The lake is world famous as home to millions of flamingoes. The number of flamingoes depends on the water level which determines the quantity of algae on which the birds feed. Flamingoes are known to migrate to other Rift Valley lakes whenever the water level is low. The National Park surrounds the lake and was gazetted to protect the colony of flamingoes as well as provide sanctuary for endangered species such as the rhino. There are about 25 white and black rhinos, one of the largest concentrations in the country. Predators are also residents to this park while Rothschild’s giraffe have been trans-located into the park for safety.

DAY 5: Lake Nakuru - Samburu

Early morning game viewing, then proceed to the Northern part of Kenya, Arrive Samburu National Reserve in time for your late afternoon game viewing- Dinner / Overnight at the camp.

The highlights of these reserves are the spectacular scenic beauty, rivers and sentrim-mara-camp-accommodationforests. It is an area where the local people have a rich and colorful heritage. The reserves have numerous permanent springs and a wealth of wildlife which includes leopard, hippo, elephant, lion, reticulated giraffe, grevy’s zebra and crocodile in the Ewaso Nyiro River. Over 365 species of birds have been identified in the sanctuaries. There are lodges and campsites managed by mobile tented camp operators. Shaba National Reserve is home to the monument of Joy Adamson who, together with her husband George, contributed greatly to Kenya’s wildlife as an author, conservationist and artist. The film ‘Born Free’ is based on Joy’s book of the same title. Shaba was the setting for the film ‘Sheena Queen of the Jungle’. Shaba reserve is home to the rare blue-shanked Somali Ostrich.

DAY 6: Samburu

Full day game viewing in Samburu. Dinner / Overnight, camp.

Day7: SAMBURU - MT.KENYA

After an early breakfast bid farewell to Samburu as we drive south through Isiolo, crossing the northernmost foothills of Mount Kenya, until we reach Nanyuki town and then a short distance to SERENA MOUNTAIN LODGE for lunch. The Lodge, which comes alive at night with the various sounds of animals, is one of the exotic "Tree Hotels" situated in the heart of Mt. Kenya's forest reserve. All of the en-suite rooms have balconies from which you can look beyond the trees to observe the endless parade of wildlife. You can watch these animals from the safety of your room or from a specially built viewing bunker connected to the lodge by a tunnel, which affords you an amazing up-close view of the animals as they visit waterholes and saltlick. Dinner & overnight at SERENA MOUNTAIN LODGE (BLD).

Day 8: MT.KENYA - AMBOSELI

After an early breakfast we head for Nairobi "The City under the Sun" for an early lunch at NAIROBI HOTEL. After lunch, we proceed to Amboseli National Park through the statan lava plateau. Beautifully situated beneath the foot of Africa's highest mountain Mt. Kilimanjaro (5895m), the park is well renowned for its huge herds of elephants and various types of other Savannah wildlife such as Giraffes, Bushbuck's, Kudu, Warthog's, Zebra's and over 425 species of birds recorded here.

The snowcapped peak of Kilimanjaro rising above white clouds dominates every aspect of Amboseli and forms a backdrop to an impressive display of wildlife attracted to this location by swamps and springs fed by underground rivers from Kilimanjaro melting snow. With an airstrip at Empusel Gate, the park is also home to the Masai people, those tall, brave, and proud nomads who live in close harmony with the environment and the wildlife that surrounds them. Amboseli was the location around which such famous writers like Sir Ernest Hemingway and Robert Ruark tailored their stories of big game hunting in the wilds of Africa. Enjoy a game drive en-route, as we arrive in time for your dinner and overnight at kimana camp.  (BLD).

Day 9: AMBOSELI - TSAVO WEST

After an early morning breakfast, we depart Amboseli National Park through the statan lava plateau, to the legendary land of the "Man-Eaters" - Tsavo National Park. The 21,000 sq km park is one of the largest in the whole world. Due to its enormous size, this animal and plant heaven was divided into two parts Tsavo East and Tsavo West, for easy administration and management. This wilderness is home too over 1000 plant species, 400 bird species and more than 60 major mammal species such as lions, huge herds of buffalo, the solitary and ill-tempered Rhino and at least 7000 elephants. The park is the location of Africa's most famous adventure story "Man eaters of Tsavo", in which two lions where responsible for eating over 500 workers who where building the Uganda railway also known as the "Lunatic Line " by it's opponents in the British Parliament in 1898. The story was made famous in the 1996 movie "The Ghost and the Darkness."

Enjoy your lunch at KILAGUNI SERENA LODGE. Conveniently located in the heart of the park, the lodge offers captivating views of the majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro and the Chyulu Hills. Only 100m from the main building, is a water hole where animals come to quench their thirst. Each of the 53 rooms has a private shower, toilet, and a verandah (Patio) overlooking the waterhole and Africa's highest mountain, snowcapped Mt. Kilimanjaro. With its own airstrip nearby, Kilaguni lodge is the place to be. Dinner & overnight at KILAGUNI SERENA LODGE (BLD).
